Every Monday, youāll find a selection of top-quality gubbins: what Iām doing, whatās available to see and read, plus a cheeky heads up on stuff that nobody else knows is happening (yet). This is going to run in tandem with a few other places as well: YouTube, Instagram and Spotify (though to be honest Iām not sure I wanna go there, we might pick Apple as our home).
Consider everything a Work in Progress until we say otherwise.
This week, my husband is watchingā¦
My husband does enjoy a decent Limited Series, and I saw him starting this on Saturday Night as I was off to muck about in World of Warcraft (more on that later this month). The quality of cast in this says it ought not to be woeful, but I dunno, because I am not watching it. Weāll see if he recommends it by the end of the week, thatās normally a decent benchmark.
Iām REALLY pleased with the last weekās progress, though. Iām less enamoured that five weekās worth of scheduling vanished yesterday, too late for me to correct it. MMXCI will be posted today as a result, and Iāll set myself reminders to do it manually for the rest of August. Itās not that I donāt trust Substack, but I suspect because I am deleting a lot of stuff, my cloud space may be a bit unhappy.
Show me the Poetry!
Iām now fully committing to producing a long-form sequence of experimental videos that will accompany my upcoming pamphlet, Forest Management. As a result, a lot of focus is being directed into making this something very special indeed. Weāll be keeping you up to date with progress on Wednesdays: until then, Iāll be sharing my other video work here on Mondays.
Todayās video gave me the confidence to commit to this project in the first place.
If you are interested in keeping up to date going forward, Iāll be creating pre-production process videos beginning late August. You can find them all and be kept up to date by subscribing to my channel:
Coming Up
The gallery hosting the exhibition in which my poetry combines with this guyās video/sound design has posted details on how you can get tickets for the opening. Iām going to post them here, because there may be people whoād like to meet me in person, and honestly Iām so damn proud of what I have made here it would be lovely to get as many pairs of eyes on it as possible.
If you canāt make it to the Opening, itās available to view until the end of December.
I wrote a blog over the weekend. This is now where all my personal work will be archived, plus the Collection! and Pamphlet! ācontentā will also be moving here in the next few days:
Thereāll also be a poem of mine featured on Ink, Sweat and Tears on the 16th, which Iām going to do a close read/explanation of (as itās included as part of Collection!) and the plan going forward is to do this for any and all my work as part of the marketing/promotion process. I will also have some VERY IMPORTANT NEWS for all my local poets next week.
Doing all this is not a paid gig. I do not earn a wage. If youād like to consider supporting me and allowing me a cheeky snack between engagements?
If you got this far, my biography will be updated this week. Iām rather excited.
