Every Monday, youāll find a selection of top-quality gubbins: what Iām doing, whatās available to see and read, plus a cheeky heads up on stuff that nobody else knows is happening (yet). This is going to run in tandem with a few other places as well: YouTube, Instagram and Apple Podcasts. Spotify can do one, sorry. My decision is made.
Consider everything a Work in Progress until we say otherwise.
Last week, people aired me quite spectacularly
I spent a reasonable proportion of last week attempting to find a venue for an upcoming project. You would not believe how difficult this is proving to be: nobody is interested in hosting anything without me parting with ridiculous amounts of money that I frankly do not possess. I am looking for a quiet space for poets with the possibility of catering. This should not be as hard as it is, people.
Gonna try again this week. A new venue will be approached. Letās hopeā¦
The silence from my publisher over Forest Management continues to concern me. Heās just announced another winner of a contest. Iām going to reach out to a professional body this week for advice. Letās see if someone else can a) offer some support and b) make progress in ascertaining what is actually going on. It would be lovely to use this energy more creatively, but this is world we live in.
Show me the Poetry!
I hope to have a trailer for Forest Management done and dusted by the end of this week. In the meantime hereās the 31 āshortsā I made (and finally finished last year in widescreen format) for NaPoWriMo 2024. Theyāre not perfect, but it was a lovely experience to make something this complex from pretty much a standing start. Hopefully, this links to the full playlist.
If not, you should be able to access everything from the link below.
Coming Up
This is a reminder that the gallery hosting the exhibition in which my poetry is combined with a professional EDM artistās visuals has posted details on how you can get tickets for the opening.
If you canāt make it on the day, the work is viewable until the end of December.
My Ink, Sweat and Tears poem is due for publication on Saturday. Weāll be doing a recap on where it comes from and the state of Collection! generally on Wednesday, before all that work gets moved over to its new home on my personal blog. The Wednesday after Iāll remind you of why that poem came into being, and how it marked an important step forward in my overall creation process.
In the last week Iāve submitted a number of performance and workshop proposals for next year. We have one more to finish this week, and then thereās an increasing pile of first drafts to plough through. There is always an uptick in submission windows as September arrives, and Iād like to be ready to approach the Autumn with renewed enthusiasm and fresh work.

The Biography is done. Uploading and faffing will commence after breakfastā¦
