The Instagram rebrand has started strong. We’ll keep it going today. The lass I contacted about the headshots got back to me before the end of yesterday, which is an excellent sign. Me and the Youngest also went to a Vintage Fair, which pops up semi-regularly at the Municipal Sports Centre: a suitcase was purchased, which will be photographed later at the start of its transformation project.
The plan for the rest of today is to make the most of being a) reasonably awake and b) focused on working and to attempt to get some much-needed futureproofing in place for the next couple of weeks. I also have my Church project to plan and some decisions on content for the Mental Robustness for Poetry course. It would also be useful to get ahead on the NaPoWriMo video scheduling.
More and more I am leaning towards simplicity as an aesthetic choice. It will be an object lesson in restraint over the next few weeks to see if I can keep to my original plans, and whether those plans are long-term manageable. There are also a couple of opportunities that have arisen that I would like to explore in more detail with other people. That needs thought and consideration too.
I’ve just sent an email to someone about an idea I’d written off to see if it is worth moving forward: I’ve spent a lot of time devaluing both myself and my potential when it comes to physical work. There’s also a growing confidence in talking to total strangers, as I did yesterday to a lovely lady who lives locally and who makes vintage-inspired clothing. It was her trouser designs that made me the most excited.
I have a huge arse and bulky legs but an increasingly flatter stomach and a smaller waist, and pretty much everything fails to fit somewhere from commercially produced items. So, it may be time to investigate some custom-made pieces for my Gig Wardrobe, because even I know that a t-shirt and jeans will not cut it long term, especially if I get lucky and win something important.
This week therefore is going to be a Consolidation and Change week combined. There will be new and old things between both, and we will do our best to move everything forward, even if it is just a few centimetres. Not every progression is immediately obvious anyway. Sometimes, staying still is the best option, but when you’ve been running away from something your entire life, that is a hard ask.
We will do our best, and we will endure.
